TFP CCO Justin Scroggie to judge the International Emmys 2020

September 2020 - Justin Scroggie is pleased and proud to have been invited to judge submissions to the International Emmys once again.

The International Emmy Awards are bestowed by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (IATAS) in recognition to the best television programs initially produced and aired outside the United States. The awards are presented at the International Emmy Awards Gala, held annually in November in New York City.

"The work of the Format People is global, so we take a keen interest in programming created and produced around the world, " said Justin. "Submissions to the iEmmys are consistently high, and we thank the Academy for the opportunity to judge the content with a view to celebrating the best and inspiring the next generation to excel."

For the curious, the Emmy gets its name from the 'Immy', short for the Image Orthicon Tube, a device that revolutionised the operation of early colour television cameras. As the statue of the award is female, the name was feminised to Emmy.
